Job Description

St. John the Baptist has excellent part-time opportunities for nurturing, caring, positive individuals who love working with infants, toddlers, or school-age children as part of a positive and supportive team. The primary responsibility is to keep the children happy, busy, and safe in a nurturing, Christian environment.

Shifts available:

• 2:15 pm - 5:45 pm (or close) Monday - Friday
• 2:15 pm - 5:45 pm (or close) Tuesday - Friday

Duties:

• Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote the social, mental, physical, emotional and educational development.
• Maintain and monitor children to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Feeding and providing age-appropriate rest-times.
• Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests, and development.
• Maintaining contact with the children’s parents/guardians.
• Ensure the children maintain good hygiene and change diapers (infants & toddlers).
• Clean the childcare room to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
• Reports to the child care director.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Child care experience preferred.
• Must pass CPR and First Aid certification training, or hold current certifications.
• Ability to pass a background check.

ADA Physical Requirements:

• The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
• Close vision is required for paperwork and computer.
• Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
• This role classroom-type environment which may require the employee to bend and lift 40 pounds.
