$56,100–$59,600 annually

Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 (paid in two installments)

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a multidisciplinary early education team supporting preschoolers with developmental disabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by designing and delivering individualized educational plans that foster growth, inclusion, and readiness for lifelong learning.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement individualized and group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and state regulations.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary staff to support each child’s learning and development.
• Supervise and mentor paraprofessional classroom staff.
• Maintain progress documentation, assessments, and communications with parents and service teams.
• Participate in CPSE/CSE meetings, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• NYS certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities (Birth–2 or All Grades), or eligibility with plan to obtain.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience teaching or supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, or sensory and communication challenges.
• Strong classroom management, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, engage actively with children on the floor, and move throughout the classroom and facility as needed.

Sign-On Bonus Details: $3,000 paid in two taxable installments—after the first paycheck and after a designated period of continuous employment. Bonus is subject to repayment if employment ends before one year.
