Fundraising and Integrated Marketing Communication in Nonprofits

Department of Marketing, Management, and Health Care Administration

UMGC Stateside

Location: Stateside Remote

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach remotely in the Marketing Program. Specifically, we are seeking faculty in the following course(s):

Fundraising and Integrated Marketing Communication in Nonprofits (NPMN 602)

A comprehensive study of effective fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Topics include developing a fundraising strategy, building a donor base, and writing grant proposals. Discussion covers integrated marketing communication (IMC) strategies to achieve harmony in messages to stakeholders and a variety of communication modalities, such as digital media (including search, display, and social media), traditional advertising and event promotions, and other tools that nonprofits utilize to advance their mission objectives.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Public Management, Non-Profit Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.

  • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in teaching Public Management and/or Non-Profit Management is required.

  • This position is primarily to teach remotely.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Terminal degree in Public Management, Non-Profit Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.

The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

  • Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning

  • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations

  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments

  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program

  • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements

Faculty Training at UMGC

We are committed to your professional success at UMGC. Each new faculty member is required to successfully complete our online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire.
