Your Role As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer at Tetra Tech, you’ll join a collaborative team to learn the fundamentals of structural analysis, design, and project delivery. You will support senior engineers on a variety of projects—from conceptual design through construction—gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, codes, and best practices.
- Assist in the development of structural calculations, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Perform basic structural analyses using software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000.
- Help prepare design deliverables that comply with building codes and client requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and interdisciplinary project discussions.
- Contribute to quality control by checking drawings, calculations, and documentation for accuracy.
- Support site visits and construction-phase services, observing construction progress and helping resolve technical issues.
- Stay current on industry codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate closely with team members, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (new graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply).
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or preparation to sit for the FE exam.
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design fundamentals.
- Exposure to one or more of the following software packages: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from senior staff.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations.
