SUMMARY:
The position of Corporate Controller is a senior-level manager responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting and financial functions of the Company and ensuring accurate financial results. The Corporate Controller manages the daily accounting functions and accounting staff; establishes and maintains the general ledgers for the Company’s entities; manages the month end close process to support timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements; takes the lead on researching and documenting accounting policy elections, as applicable to First Bancorp; and ensures that applicable financial controls are developed, implemented, documented and adhered to. The Corporate Controller interacts with other Finance team members, including the Operational Controller and Director of Financial Reporting and is a key liaison with auditors and other outside parties. May perform managerial duties in the absence of the Chief Accounting Officer. The role is expected to provide leadership, training and guidance to less experienced staff members and provide guidance to other finance personnel in relation to GAAP and processes and controls.

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The environment is a professional office with standard office equipment.
Cognitive Requirements: Learning, thinking, concentration, ability to exercise self-control, ability to work in a customer relations’ environment. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations’ situations.
