Job Description

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Monitor to join our elite team in Plattsburgh, NY. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. Transdev is proud to offer: Non-CBA Position: + Competitive compensation package of minimum $16.69 - Maximum $17.69 per hour Benefits include: + Part-Time role; no benefits offered + 8 Holidays Key Responsibilities: + Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route. Keeps order on the bus. + Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students. + Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus utilizing Zonar technology, including child checks. + Assists students in the loading and unloading process. + Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents. + Attends all safety and training meetings. + Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door. + Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily. + Other duties as required Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent + Excellent communication & customer service skills. + Attention to detail + Good judgement/problem solving skills + Ability to manage high degrees of stress + Commitment to safety + Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. + Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: + Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. + Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces + Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level + Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
