HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

As an Auto Mechanic Welder you willfabricate, repair, maintain and install steel items and equipment according to quality standards. This is not a strictly welder position, candidate must be mechanical incline. Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, you will accomplish this by:

• Effectively operate a MIG welding unit and equipment.
• Identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes, law, working practices and health and safety.
• Inspect work and fill/repair as necessary.
• Assemble component parts using appropriate hand/small power tools.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and tools and maintain a clean working area.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

• Basic MIG welding experience.
• Experience in hydraulics
• Some electrical wiring experience
• Your own tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to understand plans and requirements for each task.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience working on trucks a plus.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT:

• Majority of time spent standing on hard surface, with substantial amount of pushing, pulling, and lifting. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds, perform moderately difficult, manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely, and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
• Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time and be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• This job is indoors in a traditional manufacturing/warehouse setting. Activities will include both sitting and standing. These activities will occur in the production areas. The position is indoors and there may be exposure to hazardous fumes and debris. There will be varying temperatures between different areas.
