Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for the 2025-2026 school year:

Location: Allen Dale Elementary

Position: Special Education Educational Assistant- Site Based

Hours: 7 hours per day

Calendar: 182 days per year (August-June)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Also one of the following three options:
   • Two years of college study
   • An associates (or higher) degree
   • A passing score on the Districts reading writing and math assessment.

1. Preferred: supplemented by college level work or special vocational training in Special Education principles and practices behavior management and/or procedures related to basic physical/medical needs and personal hygiene. Two years of responsible instructional assistance experience preferably involving contact with students who have some form of learning or physical disability or special cultural social/behavioral needs.
2. Assists in the planning and implementing of learning experiences of students enrolled in the program confers with teacher.
3. Other duties may be ordering preparing record keeping monitoring typing filing duplicating evaluation correcting other clerical work and other duties as assigned.
4. Duties may involve working with students who need feeding toileting or changing diapers and restraining at times due to aggressive behavior.
5. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and ability to get along well with students.
6. Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.

• Upon selection employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $70 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• $19.25-$27.80 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
• Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees).
• Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees.
• 6 paid holidays per year.
• 2 personal days per year.
• 10 paid sick leave days per year.
• Bereavement leave as per bargaining agreement.
• Continuing Education Funds up to $1200 per year.
• Up to $1576 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical dental and vision insurance.
• $4402 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees) $3961.80 (46-hour employees).
• 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
• Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($1000-$1600) .
